San Francisco launches Urban Environmental Accords (UEA) Web site with Visible Strategies
SEE-IT™ software showcases City’s actions while acting as central resource for the UEA
VANCOUVER, CANADA, June 5, 2009 — Today Visible Strategies, provider of the world’s most visually-engaging performance management and communications software, and the City of San Francisco announced the public launch of the City’s Urban Environmental Accords’ (UEA) Web site in Visible Strategies’
SEE-ITTM software. Known for being an environmental leader stemming from the commitment and efforts of Mayor Gavin Newsom, San Francisco promoted and adopted the UEA framework as part of the United Nation’s World Environment Day in 2005.
San Francisco is one of over 100 cities around the world that have signed the set of 21 actions aimed at helping cities realize the “right to clean, healthy, and safe environments for their members
of society.”
“As we work towards preserving, improving, and promoting San Francisco’s long-term environmental wellbeing through the UEA actions we’ve adopted, this dynamic site provides an invaluable tool for communicating our commitments and how we’re progressing on them,” said Gavin Newsom, Mayor, City of San Francisco. “The unique user experience engages the public in an interactive, online way and at the same time, shows other cities how they too can take the first steps towards environmental sustainability.”
